Giri Fine Arts inaugurated

The inaugural function of Giri Fine Arts was held on 9th September the auspicious day of Vinayaka Chaturthi, at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan hall in Mylapore, Chennai. Eminent personalities in the field of music and dance – P.S. Narayanaswamy, Nandini Ramani and Issai Mazhalai Ramjhi were the guests of honour. They welcomed the initiative taken by GFA to provide a platform for up-and-coming musicians to showcase their talents through live performances. The keynote address was delivered by Sharada Prakash, Director of GIRI Trading Agency – a household name for Indian religious, cultural and traditional products. T.S. Raghavan, Chairman of Giri Trading Agency conveyed his blessings for the success and growth of Giri Fine Arts. The speakers paid rich tributes to the memory of Sri and Smt. Giri and T.S. Aiyappan for their efforts to promote the classical arts. The efforts of T.S. Ranganathan were also lauded.

Children from the Nava Gana bhajana mandali sang devotional songs of Purandaradasa. The inaugural function of Giri Fine Arts was successfully conducted under the initiative of T.S. Srinivasan, Udaiadityan, and Ramanarayanan along with the parents of the participating children.

The parent organisation, Giri Trading Agency Pvt. Limited, has been instrumental in releasing debut albums of many singers like Shankari Krishnan, Sikkil Gurucharan, Saindhavi, to name a few. It has been conducting music festivals in Mylapore and Tiruchi for the last four years where many youngsters have made their debut.
